The California Association of Child Life Professionals is seeking sponsors for the Annual California Child Life Professionals Conference to be held July 27-28, 2024, at Kaiser Permanente Roseville Medical Center, Roseville California. The California Association of Child Life Professionals seeks to provide a statewide forum to promote the child life profession and competencies and to enhance the health and well being of children and their families in health care settings and the community.
The CACLP consists of child life professionals from various hospitals in California. Child life specialists are professionally trained individuals who specialize in the psychosocial care of the hospitalized child. Under the family centered care model, child life specialists provide procedural preparation and support, opportunities for therapeutic play, bereavement interventions, and family support and advocacy. Through these interventions, child life specialists seek to reduce the risk of psychological trauma resulting from hospitalization.
The conference will focus on enhancing professional development and practices within various disciplines. Invitations to this conference have been extended to various disciplines within hospital and community settings, as well as students in the field of Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Human Development, and Social Work.
